For about the past two months, my goal has been to enter each week feeling organized. I have read several blogs and a couple of books about the best way to do this. My favorite book on the topic has been Maria Menounos' The EveryGirl's Guide to Life.
However, she suggests assigning a few tasks to each day, which I just don't seem to be able to do! I always end up doing everything on Sunday. She has some great ideas, such as keeping an inventory list inside of your medicine cabinets, pantry, etc... Which I have not tackled yet (maybe over Spring Break)? I wonder if I am just too lazy for her everyday approach! When I get home from work at 5:30pm, I try my best to get in a workout, but just making dinner, getting lunch ready for the next day and making sure I am ready for my next morning's meetings seems to fill up my night!
My Sunday routine is typically the same, unless we have a family function or something else to do! I sleep in a little, we have breakfast, we plan our dinners for the week, then I go do the grocery shopping. When I get home I usually take a couple of hours of downtime. If it is going to be a busy week (a lot of evening meetings for Relay, etc...) then I try to make a few dinners ahead of time, start making dinner for that night, make lunch for Monday, clean the kitchen. Mike usually helps with laundry or cleaning the basement or bedrooms. Then I clean the bathrooms, we finish up making dinner and settle down to relax/get ready for work.
Part of me wants to learn how to spread the tasks throughout the week, and par of me just really enjoys feeling ready for the week on Sunday night!
I guess as part of my blog I will include our weekly dinner menus:)
