I am trying really hard to remember that losing the weight a little at a time, but consistently is the best way to keep it off! I am down 1 1/2 lbs since Monday. I know that is not that long of a time period, but I really thought I would be down more with the Petite Advantage Diet. Now, I am still waiting for my gravity bands...so I am not following the exercise portion yet. Here's to a bigger loss next week!

So...I did okay until February! Where has this month gone!!! Anyway...I am going to try and get back on track. Here is a quick recap of some of what is going on...

Weight Loss Front
Don't know about the science behind it, but I am giving the Petite Advantage Diet a try! I got all the foods today and am hitting the ground running tomorrow! Here is what is on the menu for tomorrow
Breakfast
1egg and 2 egg whites scrambled and topped with 2 slices of turkey bacon and one slice of cheddar cheese with 1 cup of cut pineapple
Lunch
A sweet potato baked and topped with 1 slice cheddar cheese, 2 tbsp of low fat sour cream, 3/4 cup pinto beans and 4 pieces of broccoli
Dinner
Halibut and Spinach Salad
Snack
Greek Yogurt

The plan is based on calorie cycling...so it will be two days of 1100 calories followed by a day of 1600 calories...the reasoning is that this will speed up your metabolism.

We shall see....

Wedding Planning
We now can officially check Photographer off of our list! We have hired the photographer my sister used and my other sister is using as well! He should know the family very well by our wedding day!
Next on my list is to go through the DJ quotes I have and make some appointments!

Getting more organized!

For about the past two months, my goal has been to enter each week feeling organized. I have read several blogs and a couple of books about the best way to do this. My favorite book on the topic has been Maria Menounos' The EveryGirl's Guide to Life.

However, she suggests assigning a few tasks to each day, which I just don't seem to be able to do! I always end up doing everything on Sunday. She has some great ideas, such as keeping an inventory list inside of your medicine cabinets, pantry, etc... Which I have not tackled yet (maybe over Spring Break)? I wonder if I am just too lazy for her everyday approach! When I get home from work at 5:30pm, I try my best to get in a workout, but just making dinner, getting lunch ready for the next day and making sure I am ready for my next morning's meetings seems to fill up my night!
My Sunday routine is typically the same, unless we have a family function or something else to do! I sleep in a little, we have breakfast, we plan our dinners for the week, then I go do the grocery shopping. When I get home I usually take a couple of hours of downtime. If it is going to be a busy week (a lot of evening meetings for Relay, etc...) then I try to make a few dinners ahead of time, start making dinner for that night, make lunch for Monday, clean the kitchen. Mike usually helps with laundry or cleaning the basement or bedrooms. Then I clean the bathrooms, we finish up making dinner and settle down to relax/get ready for work.
Part of me wants to learn how to spread the tasks throughout the week, and par of me just really enjoys feeling ready for the week on Sunday night!
I guess as part of my blog I will include our weekly dinner menus:)

Tonight - Light Sausage Lasagna - http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/sausage-lasagna-recipe/index.html
and bagged Lite Cesar Salad

Monday - Turkey Burgers - http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/anne-burrell/turkey-burger-recipe/index.html
and Baked Sweet Potato chips

Tuesday - Cornmeal Oven Fried Chicken (From Comfort Food Diet Cookbook), rice and broccoli.

Wednesday - Red Pepper Steaks (made at Dream Dinners), mashed potatoes and roasted carrots

Thursday - Chicken, Rice and Broccoli Casserole - http://allrecipes.com/recipe/broccoli-rice-cheese-and-chicken-casserole/

Friday and Saturday we generally leave open for going out to dinner or making something together!

A date is set!!!

Okay....NOW I feel like the wedding planning has really begun. We visited reception places the last week of December and set our hearts on the Mendenhall Inn. However, the pastor of our parish has been out of town since New Year's Day and so we have been in limbo! However, he returned today and said he could do our wedding on our chosen day! YEA! We finally have our wedding date! On March 23, 2013 I will marry my best friend :)

I knew this was worrying me, but I had no idea how stressed I was about it unit I was actually no the phone with Msgr. Once he said it was good to go, I felt like a thousand pounds had fallen off of my shoulders!

Now for the fun stuff...picking out save the dates, flowers, DJ, photographer, going for our tasting, and sharing all of these fun moments of planning with our family and close friends! I just hope the next 425 days go fast!!! :)

Starting from scratch

Okay, so I have tried this blogging thing a few times. I have tried a weight loss blog, a finding Mr. Right blog and a baking blog and I just go overwhelmed and did not keep up with them. So....I decided it was time to "put it all together!" I am so excited to have so many exciting and wonderful things going on in my life and this will be a place for me to share all of them!

First and foremost, I found Mr. Right :) I am engaged and getting married in the Spring of 2013...so much of this blog will probably be about my journey through wedding planning! I still love baking, but have also grown to really love all aspects of cooking. With Wedding Dress shopping looming in my future I am definitely still trying to get healthy and lose weight, so I will be sharing that experience as well. My frustrations, great recipes, etc... I am also very involved in the Relay for Life of Central Chester County. I am co-chair this year, with my sister-in-law, so you will probably be reading a little about that!

My goal is going to be to blog about three times a week...here goes nothing :)
